Adding properties in Relatics v6

Properties in Relatics v6 (See article at Relatics)

In Relatics v6, you use properties to add information to your main element. By doing this you enrich the context of your main element. There are two types of properties, a normal property and a calculated property.

Property (source: Relatics help)

A property is part of an element and contains a single value. The table below shows the available types of model objects for properties:

Model Object Usage Edit behavior
Property A model object that describes a characteristic of an element. A property has a single value and has a specified data type.

Examples:

  • ‘Name’ of the element ‘Requirement’
  • ‘Status’ of the element ‘Action’
  • ‘Description’ of the element ‘Control Measure’
Update:

  • A property will always exist as long as the element exists that it belongs to. Therefore, a property value can only be updated.
  • A property can be cleared to show an empty value.
Calculated Property A property of which the value is the result of a calculation based on the values of other properties.

Example:

  • ‘Score’ of the element ‘Risk’, which uses a formula to calculate the values of other properties ‘Chance’, ‘Money’, ‘Time’ and ‘Quality’ of the element ‘Risk’
Update:

  • A calculated property value can only be updated when one of the property values, that are part of the calculation, are updated.

Note:

  • Additional formatting can be added to a text property when adjusting from the detail view.

Follow the following steps to add a property to your element.

Adding properties to elements

Delete a type property

  1. In the workspace menu, click on Type graphview.
  2. In the model, click on the label of the type element name.
  3. Click on the name of the property.
  4. In the toolbox, click on Delete.
  5. In the dialog Delete type property, click on Ok. As a result, the type property is deleted and is no longer shown in the workspace.

Note:

  • As an alternative to the Type graphview, a type property can be deleted using the detail view.
  • A type property cannot be undeleted. The property values stored in the elements are deleted together with the type property.
